Detail
What is stored, and where
All settings — the list of allowed hosts, the device profile, UserAgent, key mapping, broadcast settings, protection-header switches, recorded test scenarios and test reports — are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. They never leave your machine and are not synchronised to your Google account.
What leaves your browser, and only if you ask for it
The extension makes no network requests of its own unless you enter your own Anthropic API key in its side panel to enable the optional AI summary of a test report. If you do, the report is sent to api.anthropic.com using your key and billed to your account. That report contains text taken from the application you tested: its URL, on-screen text, element names and error messages. The side panel shows the exact payload before it is sent, via the “Preview what gets sent” button. Anthropic's handling of that data is governed by their terms, not ours. If you never enter a key, no request is ever made and the permission for that host is never requested.
Your API key is stored in chrome.storage.local on this machine only. It is deliberately kept out of the settings object that is shared with pages, and is never written to sync storage. You can delete it at any time in the side panel.
Access to websites
The extension becomes active only on hosts you add yourself to its allow list. On those hosts it rewrites response headers and injects its emulation code — that is its purpose. On every other host it does nothing.
Note that, for allowed hosts, the emulator removes Content-Security-Policy and Strict-Transport-Security headers by default, and can add a permissive CORS header if you switch that on. Add only hosts you develop yourself.
